Acne Treatment

In the last five years, acne remedies have sold the most products. As whole Acne fighting medications are the most commonly used medicine on the market. Out numbering, many of the others like cold and flu remedies.

Currently, there are two types of acne treating products. Herbal and prescription strength are these two forms. They both offer the promise if acne removal and they all state they are the best on the market.

Within these two types are many treatment options. People whom utilize these treatments as preventative measure typically use Skin Cleanser and Neutralizers. These products if used on a daily basis will keep the skin free from bacteria causing agents and prevent clogged pores.

Acne creams are probably the most effective form of acne treatment. These creams come in many different forms and with different bases. Alcohol, Benzyl Peroxide, Anti Oxidant and Anti Biotic are a few of the bases used in acne cream production. All of these major ingredients fight acne in their own way.

Supplements are another option in the acne fight. Vitamin Pills, ointments and oils help reduce the appearance of acne and aid the body in destroying the acne causing bacteria on its own. Vitamin B5 and E are the two most common used vitamins in these supplements and have effectively stopped acne.  Not to mention, reduce the effects acne has left behind.

Acne if left untreated can cause significant damage to the skin. There are many solutions available to reduce the appearance of theses scars. Antibiotic ointments, topical treatments, facial masks and in some cases collagen injections are some of the treatments offered for rejuvenation.

Collagen injections and gelatin implants treat acnes scars and are injected at the scar site with a needle. The collagen injections raise the level of the skin under the scar site. The protein then smoothes out the area of the skin and gives it more of a polished appearance.
In most cases a trip to a dermatologist is beneficial for acne treatment. Your physician can choose the best course of action to achieve the best results. Still the options of over the counter methods are still available.

If a person begins with a good preventative hygiene regimen than the need for more evasive methods can be decreased. This is not always the case for individuals with more severe skin conditions and then a physician’s advice is recommended. Whatever you choose the fight against acne rages on and at least there is ways to combat it.

Photodynamic Therapy

In the fight against acne, many options are available. Creams, ointments, cleansers and vitamins have been the most tried methods of acne removal. All of these products; however, good only clear up “break outs” for the short-term. This has been improved on over the years and can now be subdued for the long-term.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is available to acne sufferers. The light therapy is used along with a photosensitizing agent to treat acne. When the 5-aminolevulinic acid (ALA) is applied to the skin it enables the skin to be more susceptible to light. After the agent is removed the laser is then pointed at the body where the rays from the light can be absorbed by the skin.

The treatment allows for shrinking of the skin’s oil glands, this entails reduces the amount of oil within the pores. This treatment is great for those who suffer from severe acne and traditional treatments have not worked. ALA-PDT also kills the bacteria that causes acne and helps aid in the removal of dead skin.

The light therapy treatment stems from the basis that sunlight can cure acne. The positive effects that Ultra violet rays can have on the skin are profound. Although, too much sunlight is bad for you, in small doses it can kill the active bacteria in the pores and alleviate acne. With the issue of prolonged exposure to sunlight another option had to be made.

Results Of Photodynamic Therapy

This is why light therapy was utilized for fighting acne. The ALA-PDT therapy has 2 types of light treatment, available. Depending on the needs of the sufferer either a Red or Blue light will be used for the treatment.

The Red Light is mainly used to bring down the inflammation of acne and rejuvenate the skin cells into repairing themselves. This skin has new look to it after the Red Light is used. The Blue Light helps to cure a certain type of acne.

P.acnes is a special type of acne that stops the bacteria already present in the skin from inflaming worse. Molecules called porphyrins are released near the affected area. These porphyrins after exposure to light turn into an anti bacterial free radical. Porphyrins intern eats all the acne causing bacteria, effectively.

The light Blue and Red Light Therapies are very effective at removing the acne causing agents and reducing the affects that acne can cause. An all over rejuvenation in the area of the skin the light treatment is performed, is probably the best improvement this therapy can offer.

These results will only occur after several light therapy sessions.

PhotobucketThe disease of acne is one of the most disconcerting skin diseases affecting the world. Although, there are many methods for removal of the symptoms acne causes. One method is preferred over others for the elimination of zits. That is acne fighting topical treatments.

Like everything else there are many different kinds of treatment options. These topical all have different ingredients and treatment options, for their version of the cure for acne.  The most popular of the topical treatments is Skin Cleansers.

As everyone knows, it is the accumulation of oil causing bacteria under the skin that enables “break outs” to occur. Now, the severity of the condition can vary from individual to individual. Skin Cleansers help rub off the excess oil and other contaminates from the skin. It enables the user to have clean and hygienic skin and reduce the affects acne causes. The cleansers are normally very mild to the skin and have a water base.

Now on to acne creams, probably the most effective form of acne treatment. The creams come in many different forms and with different bases. Alcohol, Benzyl Peroxide, Anti Oxidant and Anti Biotic are a few of the bases used in acne cream Photobucketproduction. All of these major ingredients fight acne in their own way.

Alcohol based creams use this ingredient to fight the affects of acne. Alcohol is proven to clean out clogged pores and neutralize the bacteria that cause acne. Many different Alcohol based creams are on the market and most of these are sold over the counter.

As with all the creams, there are some side effects. The most common of the side effects being dryness and itching to the skin, and in severe cases of reaction, additional damage to the skin. Some creams do so more than others; such as, Benzyl Peroxide.

Benzyl Peroxide is the most common of the ingredients in majority of the acne creams. It essentially, does the same thing as Alcohol based creams do. The “break outs” with this cream will reduce in severity. Even though it is a great acne fighter, this cream is commonly more expensive to obtain.

The more vitamin enriched Anti Oxidant creams use the body’s natural mechanisms to fight the bacteria in acne. This method of removal is probably the best for the skin and does repair skin damage that acne causes. Vitamin E, Selenium, Magnesium and Chromium are the some of the vitamins used in the production of these creams.

On occasion, medication will have to be prescribed to alleviate the condition if all else fails. A dermatologist has knowledge of the skin and its varying disorders, and can tell you the right course of action to remedy the issue at hand.

If damage has occurred to the skin a scar removal ointment might be needed. Although, the jury is still out on this option, many people who have used it, have noticed a reduction in the damage left after persistent “break outs”.

Do not let acne get you down. There are many options for the removal of acne and without trying them a person will never know what will work for them.
